every lot on binovy comes with its mechanics stated plainly: how a bid works, how a seller gets in, and how the record behind a piece stays honest. this page is the map; each section links to the full guide.
buying
binovy runs on proxy bidding: set a private maximum once, and binovy bids the minimum needed on your behalf, up to that cap. increments rise with the price band, and any bid in the final two minutes triggers anti-snipe: the clock extends, so an auction ends when the bidding actually stops.
delivery starts the protection window: tested lots carry 7 days, untested lots (pieces sold with no functional claim) carry 72 hours.
selling
apply any time. a curator decides, weighing your catalog's depth, its documentation, and its history of care. depth advises the decision; it doesn't gate it. deeper cataloging earns standing, not a shortcut.
the record
every lot carries a permanent record; every entry is labeled by how it got there. the record only grows forward: service entries, custody changes, and sale history append as dated, kind-labeled lines and stay in place, corrected by addition, never by deletion. the record is the source every listing draws from. binovy verifies the labeling, not the story: what's written on a listing is checked, not embellished.

fees
buyers pay one fee at checkout, priced in, never surcharged. sellers pay zero commission, just a small listing fee, win or lose.
